He was in the automobile industry in Burlington for five years and spent four years as a financial adviser in Honolulu. He holds a bachelor of science in economics from the University of Vermont. Murray is a native of Barre who was with Designers’ Circle in Burlington. Century 21 Advantage in South Burlington announced the addition of Tammy Dinsmore to its team. Open Doors announced the appointment of Joshua Lacan as the St. Albans City School after-school program coordinator. Lacan, a certified teacher, was an AmeriCorps education coordinator in Massachusetts. Lynn Tracy has joined the Vermont Mutual Insurance Group in Montpelier as development manager. Tracy was with GE Commercial Distribution Finance, formerly Bombardier Capital Inc., with 17 years’ experience in the technical and business areas. She was also a computer programmer with National Life of Vermont. New England Culinary Institute has hired John Flynn as director of finance. Flynn has held several senior-level financial positions in the last 20 years. Shirley Ramirez, executive vice president of the Posse Foundation, will join Middlebury College as dean for institutional diversity. As a member of the president’s staff, Ramirez will report to President Ronald D. Liebowitz. The Posse Foundation identifies, recruits and selects outstanding student leaders from public high schools to form multicultural teams that go on to top universities and colleges nationwide. Ramirez was a student in the very first Posse and is the first Posse Scholar to receive a doctorate. Larry Sudbay, president and chief executive officer of SymQuest Group Inc., announced the appointment of Dave Reynolds as an account executive. Reynolds was with Lockrow’s. Johnson State College has added five faculty members. Regina Ritscher-Winters, a 1985 JSC alumna, joined the college as assistant professor in the education department. Tyrone Shaw was named assistant professor in the writing and literature department. He has been a part-time professor of journalism at the college since 1993. Eric (Luke) Krieg joined the behavioral sciences department as an associate professor of sociology. He was with Buffalo State College in Buffalo, N.Y. Mary Martin joined the fine and performing arts department as an assistant professor of art history. She has been a visiting professor for two years and spent several years before this teaching and lecturing at colleges in the Midwest. F. Reed Brown has also joined the fine and performing arts department as a visiting professor of theater. He co-founded the Ozark Actors Theatre at the University of Missouri-Rolla. Thomas S. Leavitt, senior vice president of retail banking for Merchants Bank, announced the appointment of Margaret (Peggy) A. Henry as branch president for the bank’s new Waterbury office. Henry has a long history of banking in Vermont, most recently with TD Banknorth since 1997. TD Banknorth announced several staff changes. David A. Estes was promoted to senior retail banking officer in Burlington. He has been with the bank since 2000. Barbara J. Clark was promoted to assistant vice president in the retail banking department in Williston. Clark joined the bank in 2000. Karen Snyder was promoted to officer in the branch at 2300 St. George Road in Williston. She joined the bank in 1987. Kelly S. Kimball was promoted to assistant vice president at Wealth Management Group in Burlington. She joined the bank in 1993 and is a member of The Institute of Certified Bankers. Tara Schoellermann has joined Hampton Direct importing and distribution firm in Williston as an inventory/order entry assistant. She was with a Malibu, Calif., retail store. Mary Alice (Allie) Stickney was named president and chief executive officer of Wake Robin, Vermont’s only continuing care retirement community, in Shelburne. She will succeed President and CEO David Colman, when he retires in January. Stickney is international vice president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America in New York City. Sara C. Blum, managing partner of PostScript Inc., announced that Lauren Schechter was named office manager and marketing assistant. Schechter is a recent graduate of the University of Vermont’s business school, where she studied marketing. She was with Gravel and Shea. Lang Associates announced the addition of Winfield Trail as team support specialist for the Toni Trombley team of sales professionals. Winfield has experience in Web and graphic design. SendOutCards of Barre announced the promotion of Dave Rubel to senior manager. This is the second promotion in two months for Rubel, who mentors more than 40 professionals in nine states. He is also an assistant director with Business Network International, a referral organization. Competitive Computing (C2) has hired Lucas Soler as project manager and Ben Stuart as system engineer for the advanced infrastructure group. Soler is a Certified Project Management Professional with more than seven years’ experience. He was with General Dynamics and Accenture. Stuart has more than six years’ networking and computer experience with local technology companies. He was with PBM Nutritionals in Georgia. Christopher Stevens joined the buildings engineering division of design and consulting firm Stantec as an electrical designer in the firm’s North Springfield office. Stevens was with WV Engineering Associates in Keene, N.H., for 12 years, and before that, with Dufresne-Henry, which Stantec acquired in April 2006. Megan R. Ludwig of Brooklyn, N.Y., has joined the law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC as an associate in the St. Johnsbury office. Ludwig was with a New York law firm since graduating from New York University School of Law in 2004. Robert Burnetti, general manager of the Sheraton Burlington Hotel and Conference Center, announced that Adam Leonard was named human resources director. Leonard was in the human resources office at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. He is a Jeffersonville native. David Kolak and Joel Rosinsky have joined Maple Leaf Farm as case managers.
