Susie Jones was hired as the Franklin-Grand Isle Regional Community Partnership coordinator as part of a merger of the partnership and the Franklin-Grand Isle United Way. Jones is an eight-year resident of Franklin County and a former resident of Grand Isle County. She has worked in the affordable housing field for five years, most recently with the Champlain Housing Trust.

Sovernet Communications announced the addition of two employees. Christa Pratt joined the company as a staff accountant. She was with C&S Wholesale Grocers. Crystal Morse is a customer care representative. She was with Chittenden Bank in Brattleboro. Both have more than eight years’ experience in their fields.

Steffen Parker joined ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, as facilitator of Voices for the Lake. Parker is a 15-year volunteer water-quality monitor for the lake and was water quality coordinator for Colchester.

KeyBank announced that Dan Johnson, retail banking leader, and Tony Martin, commercial banking relationship manager, were promoted to senior vice president. Johnson has been with Key four years; Martin joined the bank in 1998. Mary Pat Scarpa was promoted to senior vice president and named manager of the KeyBank private banking group for Key’s Vermont district. All three are based at the bank’s Vermont headquarters in Burlington. Scarpa has been with Key since 1996.

TD Banknorth announced two promotions. Richard Newman was promoted to senior vice president within the general services administration division. He will oversee facilities operations for all New England and Mid-Atlantic locations. Newman joined TD Banknorth in 2001. Cynthia Boothby was promoted to vice president in commercial credit administration in Burlington. She joined the bank in 1994.

Jean Harry, RN, MSA, joined the Visiting Nurse Association as program manager for private care services, the VNA Care Connection. Harry returned to the VNA after six years in nursing administration at Fletcher Allen Health Care.

Matthew Cleare joined Davis & Hodgdon Associates CPAs as a staff accountant. Cleare is a graduate of Champlain College with a bachelor’s degree in business and a concentration in accounting. 

Glenn Dudley has returned to the engineering staff of Vermont Public Television as technical supervisor. Dudley was director of engineering at Clear Channel Radio for eight years, before which he worked in engineering at VPT for eight years.

Carrie Perkins, M.S., joined The Community Health Center of Burlington as community relations and development coordinator. Perkins was with the Museum of Fine Arts and the Brooklyn Arts Center.

Stephan Jost, director of the Shelburne Museum, announced the hiring of Karen Petersen as director of education and public programs. Petersen was with Norwich University in Northfield, before which she was associate director of education at Shelburne Museum.

Finard Properties and University Mall announced the addition of James Polli as a full-time marketing coordinator. Polli spearheads mall events and sponsorships and assists with temporary leasing.

Gallagher, Flynn & Co. LLP announced that Philip A. Lapp has become a partner in the firm. Lapp is the practice leader for the Hanover, N.H., office, which employs 12 full-time professionals. He has provided tax services to public and privately held businesses for over nine years. The firm has hired Joshua M. Lucier to be in charge of network and user support in the information technology department. Lucier was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

David Grippin, CPA, CVA, the managing partner of Grippin, Donlan & Roche, announced that Todd A. Wimette, CPA, joined the firm as senior manager in the accounting and auditing department. He was with Ernst & Young LLP.

Sam Boyer joined Davis & Hodgdon Associates CPAs as an associate accountant. Boyer has worked in the banking industry and the ski industry. He is working toward his master of business administration at the University of Vermont.

Jason Fitzgerald was promoted to clinical coordinator at Dee Physical Therapy’s South Burlington and Shelburne locations. Fitzgerald is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Federation of Professional Trainers and has 11 years’ experience in a variety of settings.

NRG Systems Inc., a manufacturer of wind-energy measurement systems, announced the addition of three employees to its staff. Tyler Stoddard joined the towers technician team. He was retail sales manager and Web site shipping and receiving manager at The North Face store in Burlington. Marcie Cousino and Joshua Jacobs joined the company’s materials processing team. Cousino was production coordinator, assistant network manager, and shipping and receiving coordinator with Senix Corp. in Bristol. Jacobs was with Green Mountain Power.

Country Walkers announced the hiring of Brooks Heady and Jane Agran as tour consultants; Beth Wilbur as office assistant; Francesca Merrill as assistant tour manager; and Karen King as assistant tour manager. Heady was with Stowe Country Homes; Agran was a professional organizer; Wilbur was with TD Banknorth NA; Merrill was with Grand European Tours; and King was with the Ziemke Glassblowing Studio in Waterbury.

The Vermont Telecom Authority hired William Shuttleworth as executive director. He will be responsible for guiding Vermont’s e-State Initiative, a plan to bring mobile phone coverage and high-speed Internet access to every corner of the state by the end of 2010. Shuttleworth was with Verizon (and its predecessors) for 30 years. He was most recently chairman of the board, president and CEO of ORIUS, a construction company that built the physical infrastructure for large phone companies.

Chittenden Bank’s board of directors announced the appointment of Michael Seaver as president and CEO. He succeeds John W. Kelly, who recently announced his retirement. Seaver assumed his position after the completion of the company’s acquisition by People’s United Financial. The St. Michael’s College graduate joined Chittenden in 1981.

The Trust Company of Vermont announced the hiring of Sharry A. Rutken as vice president and senior administrative officer, and Deborah A. Brown as trust officer. They will work from the company’s newly established Manchester office. Bonnie L. McLellan was named vice president and senior investment officer. Based in Rutland, McLellan will provide investment support for the Manchester office. All three were with TD Banknorth.

Neville Companies hired Michael Fialko Casey to work on its maintenance team. Casey was manager of a retail woodworking store in Oregon.

Veteran marketing and public relations professional Pat Sears has assumed the position of chief executive officer at Spike Advertising. Sears has a 25-year track record in marketing and PR as chief marketing officer for corporations and as principal of a Connecticut ad agency. After five years as marketing director of Northfield Savings Bank, she worked for 18 months taking Green Mountain Logic, a Vermont start-up, through its sale to a Boston company.

Wireless Zone of Burlington, a store in Burlington Town Center specializing in the sale of Verizon wireless voice and data services, announced the promotion of Michael Thompson to manager. 

KeyBank announced that Amy Wiles was named executive vice president and regional credit executive for the Northeast region. Wiles oversees credit administration throughout several regions, including Vermont. With Key since 2005, she was with the Rocky Mountain region. KeyBank named Timothy Poirier mortgage adviser, KeyBank Mortgage, for the Vermont district. He works from the Taft Corners branch. Victoria Norton was named community development banking mortgage adviser, working from district headquarters in Burlington. Jay Provencher was named financial adviser for the Vermont district’s Key Investment Services Team at district headquarters. Poirier was with Citizens Bank; Norton was at LibertyQuest Mortgage; Provencher was with Citizens Bank.

Douglas J. Wacek, president and CEO of the Union Mutual of Vermont Companies, announced that Carolyn S. Ix was promoted to assistant vice president of marketing. Ix has been a senior marketing representative covering Vermont and parts of New Hampshire. John R. Walker was promoted to senior vice president of marketing and underwriting. He has more than 28 years’ experience in insurance and has been with the company since 1976.

Geoffrey R. Hesslink, senior vice president of Merchants Bank, announced the appointment of Scott Dikeman as vice president and corporate banking officer. Dikeman will maintain offices in the Rutland branch. He has more than 22 years’ banking experience in the Rutland market, most recently with Factory Point National Bank. Michael R. Tuttle, president and CEO of Merchants Bank, announced the appointment of James F. Scott as credit division manager and vice president. He will work in the South Burlington branch. Scott was with Bank of Vermont/Bank of Boston for 20 years before joining TD Banknorth. He joined Merchants last year.

Karen Koechlein joined Home Instead Senior Care as community service representative. Koechlein was with DaVinci Laboratories and Delta Airlines.

Exterus Technology for Business announced that Mark Duboise was hired as a systems engineer. Duboise was with Xerox Corp. for over 11 years.

Patty Rickard, formerly an attorney with Primmer, Piper, Eggleston & Cramer, was appointed vice president of human resources at Central Vermont Medical Center. As a member of the law firm, Rickard worked with CVMC for several years. Carolyn Herz was named inter-faith chaplain at the medical center. She was with the Beth-Jacob Hebrew School in Montpelier.

TruexCullins announced five new hires. Diantha Korzun, AIA, LEED AP, joined the architectural team. The Vermont native returned from working with a firm in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Jamie Gravel also joined the architectural team. Gravel was with two Burlington area architects and is working in the firm’s education studio. Kathleen Piotrowski, a recent graduate of Syracuse University, joined the interiors studio. She interned with a Philadelphia architecture firm. Ann Morris joined the interiors studio at TruexCullins. She was head coach of a women’s varsity lacrosse team in Boulder, Colo. Also joining the interiors studio is Christopher Hook, who was with an architecture firm in Richmond, Va.

DuBois & King Inc. consulting engineers announced that Timothy J. Chase was named project manager, construction phase of project. Chase has 10 years’ experience in the industry as superintendent, field engineer, and project manager. The company has named David A. Eves, P.E., director of technical operations. He has 30 years’ professional experience in planning, design, construction and operations management

Joseph D. Lisaius, president of Lisaius Marketing, announced that Jeanne-Marie Gand was named vice president of brand development. Gand was vice president of marketing, sales, and communications for Bolton Valley Resort, following 15 years as corporate officer and vice president of communications and advertising for Rossignol.

Heather Harding joined the Vermont Mutual Insurance Group in Montpelier as a casualty field adjuster for the southeastern Massachusetts area. Harding has extensive experience in the industry, including 17 years with One Beacon.

Propeller Media Works web design and Internet marketing firm added two members to its client strategy team. John Gonter signed on as senior client strategist. He was with National Gardening Association. Rob Ticho joined the client strategy team as project manager and i-marketer. He founded and managed Green Devil Snowboard Media.

Seth Duchesneau, the owner of Cobble Hill Trailer Sales LLC in Milton, announced the addition of David Easler as salesman. Easler has more than 25 years’ advertising and sales experience and will be responsible for expanding the company’s sales into the state of Maine.
